Features
Precision grinding and polishing produce surface flatness of ＜4Å(AFM/KLA), equivalent to ±4cm over a lake 100km in diameter. The special optical film stack design on the 82mm filter (spectral wavelength 400~650nm) effectively suppresses infrared light after 650nm, making it a good choice for astrophotography. The 62mm, 72mm, and 77mm filters all use full-spectrum coating for transmission of 99.5%. The outer edge has been carbon blackened, reducing ghost images by absorbing reflectivity and diffused infrared within the lens.
For the rim, we use precision machining for a tough but lightweight aluminum alloy frame. The 5mm shock-absorbent frame reduces vignetting when using a wide-angle lens. The inner circle is treated with non-stick Teflon and a matte black finish and the embossed frame is easy to rotate. The shock-absorbent frame also reduces the chance of damage to your lens if it takes a knock.
